I like the 2nd tier QB's better than the top 2.

Burrow and Ehlinger have my attention.

I look at the strides Burrow has made from just one year ago and I can't help but be impressed.  What do people always say?  You can't teach accuracy.  Well, the guy is putting up big numbers, and as of this morning he has a completion percentage of around 80 percent.  80% in a pass-happy offense.  Still a lot of football left to be played, but four games in it certainly catches the eye.

I'd be curious to know the quality of that completion percentage (I haven't watched much of Burrow this season, so I truly don't have anything to speak on). Last year, Haskins led the nation by a large margin on yardage obtained off of screen passes. He also primarily threw shorter than 10 yards, easy crossing routes and stuff. This can lead to gaudy stats that look nice but really don't show much to the QB skills.

Burrow is amazing Goose.  He is the real deal IMO.

The most important aspect for a QB other than accuracy is pocket presence. Its hard to quantify that.

There's nothing worse than a guy that immediately gets figity when the pressure comes.

As for "tier 2" guys, that would include basically everyone except Herbert and Tua at this point. I suspect you will see a 3rd guy position himself as a top 5-10 pick. My money is on Eason.

Burrow looks pretty confident in the pocket.  I know some do not like Tua but I do.  Nevertheless, i think a team will have to pick Tua near the top of the draft and if it came down to Tua or Thomas, I put my money and hope on Thomas.  There is a chance Burrow could slide to round two (near the top).  But if he keeps playing like this and gets into the Heisman Trophy conversation, it may take a first round to get him.  If that is the case and if the Bengals pick in the top 3, I would trade back just enough to get Simmons at backer, and get Burrow, and the best available OT and guard in round 2.

I'll have to check him out. He obviously looks like the real deal and I have heard nothing but praise for him. This is shaping up to be a really solid class for QBs. Hopefully the Bengals pull the trigger, I'd be happy to have any of the top guys.

I'm not able to watch game between Burrow and love but it seems like love is struggling a bit.

Yeah not a good day for love;  Burrow is lighting it up but Utah State is playing very soft Defense. Burrow is not forcing anything and taking what the Defense is giving him though like he should.

I'm watching it.  Burrow continues to impress.  He took some sacks, but has also shown the ability to escape the pocket under pressure and make throws on the run. Accuracy is still very good, long passes are beauties.

Also, worth noting that Duke Tobin is at the game.

And Burrow just had two good scramble plays one a third down scramble for a first down & a scramble for a TD pass on a third and Goal.

I like this kid a lot.

EDIT: Burrow just threw a bomb TD with a defender in his face.

RE: QB candidates for 2020 Draft - J24 - 10-05-2019

Love has been disappointing but his team is clearly outmatched.

RE: QB candidates for 2020 Draft - psychdoctor - 10-05-2019

Nate Stanley is not very impressive at all That's a big no for me.

well that would be something if the Bengals can either get their linebacker or offensive tackle and still get Joe l

RE: QB candidates for 2020 Draft - psychdoctor - 10-05-2019

Nate Stanley is a huge quarterback but he has no mobility.
