Playcalling - THE PISTONS - 10-27-2019

The drive in the 2nd Quarter where we scored a TD showed what good playcalling can do. We were unpredictable. We could run the ball. We were throwing to TE's and RB's...and yes even Mixon. And we were throwing to WR's too.

Dalton made a really great throw to Tate on one of those plays.

But, we could actually run the ball because the defense was off balance.

Yes - We have a bad offensive line, but not as bad as what you're seeing. The bad playcalling puts the team at a disadvantage. No way should Andy Dalton be throwing the ball 50+ times a game.

For this team to ever be good...they need ZT to either improve as a playcaller, or hire an actual good OC. I think it's blatantly obvious that Taylor isn't some offensive genius that is intuitive. Once we do find a play that works, DC's seem to be good at taking it away...and the Bengals fail to adjust. (As you saw in the game with 10 points in the 1st half and 0 in the 2nd half.)

Yeah, I didn't understand that call at all. Down awareness was missing.

Why doesn't Dalton refuse to change out of garbage plays? Isn't that what he's supposed to bring that a rookie 4th round pick doesn't? Argh.

Well...you have Eifert and Tate. Why not just throw a high fade like other teams do there?

Who knows what goes on between the ears Bengals coaches and Andy Dalton?

Who the hell is responsible for all the two yard passes on 3rd and 7+ ???

How many times have we done that this season ? 8, 10, 12 ?

I am not going to praise the play calling but it is silly to blame the problems with the running game on poor play calls.
