As long as people feel the need to act like the big meanie media is picking on poor widdle Mike Brown I feel the need to point out how unreasonable that is.  Fear not, I'll get sick of it eventually.

The main takeaway here is that I have faith in Burrow, but I can also see how the same owner/GM who botched our last "can't miss #1 pick QB" and who almost certainly made sure our steal 2nd round QB in Dalton and awesome WR in Green will never win a playoff game here gets routinely slammed by the media.  It's completely fair.

Because it was Mike Brown that imploded at the end of the Steelers game and cost us the W.

Mikey is certainly not without fault, but the reality is that he has put together rosters that should have made deep playoff runs and didn't for a variety of reasons.

My argument to that is that most #1 picks go to teams that have changed their HC or GM or both so there is an illusion of hope.  The Browns were picking at #1 and had fired their GM and HC and their GM at the time was the guy who picked Mahommes so I can see why they'd have some sort of hope to sell people.

This is Mike Brown making his what...15th or so top 5 pick in his tenure as our GM so it's not about win or lose so much as the Bengals being stagnant.  To me that is what makes the Bengals a punching bag.  Mike Brown is going to keep doing things his way and here he is taking yet another #1 overall Heisman winning "can't miss" QB and this time it's gonna work.

Sure, it may work and I hope it does but come on, how many of these other awful franchises have stuck with the same losing GM for 30 years?  That's a big difference because change is interesting and change makes headlines even if it doesn't lead to wins.

That's called "what you want to hear" is the way I see it.  The Mike Brown method hasn't yielded a playoff win in almost 30 years and each year we watch less talented rosters win in the playoffs and wonder why we can't get a QB like Rex Grosssman or Blake Bortles to come here and be the "winner" we need.

Problem is that isn't the whole interview. In fact it looks like they purposely left out the question that prompted the answer from Joe Burrow.

Right Mike brown is stuck hiring coaches that will accept his loserly leadership and iron grip.  Couple thst with him being a sub par GM and you've got your culprit right there.

It comes raining down from the top.

Dog the Rex Grossman’s, Bortles, Tebow’s all you want, but those guys all stepped up and played well enough in the playoffs to win. Makes a huge difference when an average QB can do that. Just ask Nick Foles or Joe Flacco.

Palmer stepped up in the playoffs too once he wasn't here anymore.  Guess he just learned to step up when he got a new uniform or something.

Yeah, he won one playoff game. AJ McCarron should have as well...

What are we doing here man?

This is getting silly. But I’ll humor you, he didn’t win one because Jeremy Hill, Vontaze Burfict, and Pacman Jones handed Pittsburgh the game on a silver platter.

I envy you if you missed it, or have successfully blocked it out.

Lol, it took him 5 years to get back to the playoffs and he chucked 6 picks in 2 games.  Way to step up.

Just figured I'd see if you'd admit that better run and coached teams can win playoff games while we can't.

So you are admitting that an organization that wasn't run by Mike Brown managed to get to the NFC championship game with a lousy QB?  Interesting.

It's almost like some teams try harder to win than others and some just wait for everything to fall into place!  Wacky.

Only if you admit we’ve been damn close and were held back by poor QB play, injuries, and a few dumbass mistakes.

Funny how so much bad luck follows a franchise that is run by a lazy trust fund bum.

So now the media and the winds of fate are against us.  Look out Burrow, we are cursed!

Well the poor QB play was obviously not bad luck...

On that I’ll criticize Mike Brown for as well. Should have replaced Dalton years ago.

So you are saying we haven't had a QB of the caliber of Rex Grossman Bort Bortles TJ Yates Carson Palmer or Mark Sanchez here for the entirety of Mike Brown's tenure?

So it's Mike Brown's fault the team came out in the playoff game against the Chargers and crapped the bed against a team they beat during the regular season. No, most of these playoff losses are on coaching and players. Not lack of talent on the roster.

It's possible to make a conference title game with a crappy QB.  It's not likely, but it's possible.

On the flip side of the coin, the Patriots couldn't even make the playoffs with Matt Cassel as QB.  Guess you think they're poorly run, too?
