It is different for each position. 
For OL thats when they peak and plateu for several years with the fall off happening around age 34-35. 

Go on. Pick a team (besides Cleveland) and you will find at least 2 of the 5 starters 29 or older. 

But at least give him a chance before you out right dismiss him.

XSF is a big mean man, who has a legitimate chance to start. I think he will do what it takes to win that position.

To be fair, winning a starting job and playing well are two different things.
If XSF becomes the starter but still performs poorly, that's not good.

He might give us a couple good years though, he had a good year just last season.
