Chase Claypool is there though with 100 less receiving yards than Tee.

This man is going to go largely unrecognized

Bengals

Sleep on us as much as possible. Only recognition I want is a championship win.

I would think Jefferson is going to be the only WR that will get any real consideration. And even then he has no chance with Burrow and Herbert playing so well.

Tee will just have to join Boyd as another one of our underrated WR’s. Although PFF does seem to really like him.

Of course Claypool (who is very good) is going to get more love. He's a Steeler. They already started on his Hall of Fame bust.

The fact that Higgins is having the success he is with a rookie QB, a bad offensive line and very little semblance of a running game is amazing. Let's not forget that Boyd is having a solid year as well.

100 less yards, but 5 more wins.

Yardage in a win is always going to be more valuable than yardage in a loss.

You switch yardage and win totals and Higgins would be on the list instead of Claypool.

You either need to perform while winning, or be like Jefferson and absolutely dominate while losing.

Claypool also has 2 more TD's and 18 fewer targets, in fairness.

The other thing is nobody who is voting for a Bengal as ORotY is voting for Tee.  They're voting for Joe.

There is that, as well.

Thing is Claypool is ahead of Jefferson in ROY odds

Makes little sense

This. He's the leading WR (Yards, TDs, and AVG) on an undefeated team.

But but but.... people on here say individual awards have nothing to do with wins.....  Whatever

Tee has come in and done better then expected especially when you consider that he didn't get stats in week one, and didn't really become a big part of the offense till week 3.

Then explain how Odel Beckham won ROY over Jeremy Hill?

Giants missed the playoffs

While Jeremy Hill carried the offense to the playoffs

Hill was a Bengal, Bengals don't have the Market share NYG has.

I know

Just some other posters are trying to say that lesser stats on a team with a better record goes a long way in the awards category.

Clearly not the case

So is this the "I will point out one example to try to disprove a general rule" game? How fun, who doesn't love those pedantries.  Rolleyes

OBJ had more 130+ yard games in 12 games than Hill had 100+ yard games in 16 games.

OBJ led the NFL in receiving yards per game his rookie year, Hill wasn't even a Pro Bowler (OBJ was), and the Bengals didn't win their division in 2014 despite winning it in 2013.

In Chasepool, we're talking about the leading receiver on an undefeated team aka the team with the best record in football. Yes, that is obviously going to get some bonus points.

So if Claypool leads the Steelers in receiving yards, and let’s say he ends with 870, he should be known as the best rookie wide receiver of 2020? Because the team around him is great?

Well the season is only half way over and Tee has been coming on strong and getting better every game. I don't think he was even a factor up until game 3 or so.
