XSF injured - pally - 09-20-2021

No specifics as to what the injury is other than a leg injury, I guess we will see that on Wed but Zac has already said he is the infamous "day to day"

Could we be seeing Carman's first start on Sunday?

Might as well get him in there and see if he holds up.

RE: XSF injured - Joelist - 09-20-2021

Well the only thing missing was our usual starter getting injured in Week 2...

RE: XSF injured - jj22 - 09-20-2021

XSF injured. What's new. But didn't he return during the game?

Would rather not. Bengals can't just experiment with a unproven rookie against the Steelers. He'll be eaten alive and, by extension, Burrow will be even in worse shape. They need to make moves NOW!

This could actually be the pretext they needed to cover their @sses. They absolutely failed this offseason to make sufficient changes to their OL to protect Joe. Now they have a cover to make a significant trade to protect Joe. Sure their has to be a quality offensive linemen on the trading block....let's pray.

There is no way they find a guy on the street or not starting for another team that comes in and is in a better spot that Carman, who knows the system, the calls, played all camp and all pre-season. It's XFS or Carman against Pitt.

Really easy to say in a rant on a message board...not so easy to actually achieve.  Teams are not going to give up a starting-caliber offensive lineman in season

Cover their asses? How? Logic sometimes is baffling...

Anyways, Watt is most-likely out, Tuitt out, Alualu out and backups will be seeing the lion's share of snaps.

If there is ANY week for Carman to start, this is the best test, IMO, without risking Burrow.

I think Carmen is the better run blocker too (based on my own eyes -- nothing more). So, if we're going to run the ball against Pitt, Carmen need some PT.

RE: XSF injured - NATI BENGALS - 09-21-2021

Good game for him to get his first start and never look back.

RE: XSF injured - Shake n Blake - 09-21-2021

I was just debating someone on whether or not this guy was injury prone. LOL

Tbh, we probably need to see what we have in Carman, bc XSF was stinking it up.

I didn't know that pride was located in the leg...

We don't really have that luxury.

They hyped the 'trade back for a guard' move by saying he'd compete immediately for a guard' spot and could transition to a tackle since he was better suited to it. Except he didn't win a competition for a guard' spot (not a huge surprise, he's a rookie and one that was drafted higher than most expected). If Carman is the player they sold fans on, he's going to have to show it, especially with as bad as our guards are playing.
