N Korea: On Suicide Watch - SunsetBengal - 06-09-2023 Evidently, North Korean citizens are taking their own lives at an alarming rate, recently. In response to Kim Jong Un's order, the North Korean people have to be thinking "Or what?". https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/kim-jong-un-orders-north-koreans-to-stop-killing-themselves-after-number-of-suicides-skyrocketed/ar-AA1ckx7g?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=2baea5d775a94c8caec63bd7d43530b3&ei=525 Quote:Kim Jong Un banned suicide and called it an "act of treason against socialism," per Radio Free Asia. I wonder how long he can hold power like he has. ` RE: N Korea: On Suicide Watch - Nately120 - 06-09-2023 All jokes aside, I suppose he could say that if you commit suicide he will have your entire family tortured and executed, or something. Maybe he'll execute people who try to kill themselves and fail? That’s what I was thinking because aren’t they one of those countries that punishes entire bloodlines for crimes? The only problem with that is that he'll likely trigger a rebellion at some point, resulting in even greater bloodshed and loss of life. That, along with the obvious issue of eventually he'll run out of people to kill. (Always thought that was a weird transition from the bright colors he painted his face with early on.......... I guess it's a similar transition to the Crow in the actual movie.....) For crimes deemed political, especially treason and betrayal, yes. Punishment goes to the third generation. So there are children born in prison and know nothing else their entire lives. Then they have children and the same for them--for the grandparent's crime. Presumably the 4th generation is somehow freed. Seems difficult to get a fourth generation if the third is born in jail. That's where those trans rights jail assignments come in handy. If I remember correctly, they can marry, with arranged conjugal visits. This information comes from SK interviews with people who have escaped from NK prisons. One was just such a 3rd generation prisoner and I believe he had a wife. Guy was completely disoriented; know knowedge whatsoever of the outside world. His grandfather somehow crossed the original Kim back in the early 50s. If I can find a link, I'll post it. Meantime don't quote me on the 4th generational marriage privileges. |
