2020 Record Turnout! What happens in 2024? - Luvnit2 - 02-19-2024 Biden beat Trump Nationally (81 million to 74 million) in 2020. Of course, we don't decide elections by popular vote, but this number does tell us about voter enthusiasm. A long way to go, but as of today, how would you categorize Biden enthusiasm? Trump enthusiasm? Close to 156 million votes in 2020. If Biden loses 5% of his base due to enthusiasm, he would get 77 million votes and potentially would still win the popular vote. However, in the swing states, he can't afford to lose 5% if the Trump base stays in tact or grows. Thoughts??? RE: 2020 Record Turnout! Let's face it, nobody has enthusiasm for Joe Biden. RE: 2020 Record Turnout! Generic musing, but the popular vote is quite the odd thing...basically if democrats actually strategically moved out of CA and NY and into swing states the GOP would be completely screwed on the national level. I feel like if both political parties we are so generously given were to be required to win over most of the voters in the USA we'd have a better pool of political this and thats. The GOP went from winning the popular vote roughly by 31 million votes from 1980 to 1988 to declaring that the popular vote isn't reflective of the will of the people. Just seems interesting that Ronald Reagan didn't need electors to step in save him from the will of Commiefornia and NY. It is interesting that the GOP has been doing the "we stand for what the democrats don't" since Gingrich and now democrats have become the party that stands for "not Trump" while the GOP can't convince 33% of Americans that anyone matters. RE: 2020 Record Turnout! What happens in 2024? - Luvnit2 - 02-20-2024 This puts the 2020 election in perspective of how close the race was, something liberals fail to accept. If Trump wins Arizona (10,547 votes), Georgia (12,670 votes) and Nevada (33,596 votes), and Wisconsin (20,682 votes) he is the POTUS. So in essence he only lost by 77,000 votes. As for the polling today, Trump leads in all of the swing states listed below against Biden, Newsome and Harris.
