Updated after Monday Night:
- If Denver beats SD then we are the #3 seed regardless of the result against the Ravens (Head to Head tiebreaker favours Denver)
- If Denver loses to SD and we beat the Ravens then we are the #2 seed (We would have the better record: 12-4 vs 11-5)
- If Denver loses to SD and we lose to the Ravens but the Chiefs beat Oakland then we are the #2 seed
- If Denver loses to SD and we lose to the Ravens and the Chiefs lose to Oakland then we are the #3 seed
The #1 and #4 seeds are impossible for us to get.

1) If we lose to the Broncos then we cannot be #1
1a) If Denver then beat SD then we are the #3 seed regardless of the result against the Ravens (Head to Head tiebreaker favours Denver)
1b) If Denver loses to SD and we beat the Ravens then we are the #2 seed (We would have the better record: 12-4 vs 11-5)
2) If we beat the Broncos then we get a bye
2a) If NE beats Miami then we are the #2 seed regardless of the result against the Ravens (See tiebreakers below)
2b) If NE loses to Miami and we beat the Ravens then we are the #1 seed (We would have the better record: 13-3 vs 12-4)
Tie-breakers against NE:
1. Head to Head: No Result
2. Conference Record: Tied at 10-2
3. Common Opponents:
Pittsburgh: NE Win, Cin Win & Cin Loss
Denver: NE Loss, Cin Win
Houston: NE Win, Cin Loss
Buffalo: NE Win & NE Win, Cin Win
Means NE are 4-1 and we are 3-2 against common opponents. Therefore NE wins the tiebreaker.
Note that there is no scenario where we can be tied with the Patriots on record and end up the #1 seed.
Well looks like once we take care of business tomorrow night... I will need to get my fins up.

PLEASE sticky this. It's really not all that confusing.
1. Beat Den to clinch #2.
2. Beat Balt and NE lose to MIA to clinch #1.

Thanks for breaking it down UK.
Lot of confusion currently going around the boards.

Eh, I think once you start thinking of resting players/etc. you're in trouble. Win the game. This is one of the few points I agree with Marvin on.
RE: Playoff Scenarios - bengal kitten uk - 12-27-2015
Fun fact I hadn't noticed before: if Denver win out and NE lose to the Dolphins then it would be DEN #1, NE #2, CIN #3 and HOU (if they beat the Jags or we beat the Ravens) or IND (they beat the Titans and we lose out and Houston lose to the Jags) would be #4

RE: Week 17 Playoff Scenarios - gobobro - 12-29-2015
I was just coming to ask about DEN and CIN losing, but KC winning... Depending on who we have to start against BAL, this might be our best hope.
RE: Week 17 Playoff Scenarios - Hoofhearted - 12-29-2015
So do you sit some of your players next week and rest them? No worse than fourth, but can get two with Den loss AND win.
RE: Week 17 Playoff Scenarios - reuben.ahmed - 12-29-2015
I think we need that bye, we need #2. Baltimore is going to play to hurt, I believe, though.
RE: Week 17 Playoff Scenarios - StLucieBengal - 12-29-2015
Unfortunately we are hoping Rivers goes off.
RE: Week 17 Playoff Scenarios - masonbengals fan - 12-29-2015
So many scenarios can still be played out.
