Earth, Wind & Fire founder Maurice White dead - Bengalzona - 02-04-2016
Maurice White passed away at 74 today. He was one of the founders and the lead singer for Earth, Wind and Fire.

He had been diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1992 and had to stop singing in 1994.

Too many people thinkn of EW&F as a pop radio band. They did have a ton of pop radio hits, but when you see them live they are a hard core funk band. I saw them about 20 years ago in Denver. They had 4 different drum/percussion sets on each corner of the stage and Maurice's brother Verdine slapped the shit out of his bass. To me Verdine was the biggest talent in that band.

He really does. They said he'd be dead by 30. Then 40. Then 50. Somewhere along the line, they had to have started saying he would outlive them all.
