Maryland's Republican governor has been having some issues with his vetoes. So far, all 6 of his vetoes have seen the Democrat controlled state legislature override them.

This latest one allows felons to register to vote and vote while on parole and probation. There was a pretty strong social media campaign against it in which it was suggested that the bill allows incarcerated felons to votes.

Personally, I see this as a good step in getting felons back into society.

I think it's a good step, too.
If they paid their dues, then let them return to society and the process.
I'm even in favor of returning firearm rights to non-violent offenders.

You don't think treating criminals as if they are forever removed from normal society is the best way to rehabilitate them?! Ninja

I'm ok with this... We need to do something towards this end.

What percentage of people vote in Gubernatorial elections, anyways?

I know only 26% of registered voters voted for him. We had a lower turnout than usual (45% compared to the 54% in 2010).

Now while on parole, but after you've fulfilled your sentence completely, then I'm good with it.
