He's clearly not "playing" dumb on the show...

But it sounds like a classic case of scorned chic-revenge. Cops come with a warrant regarding a sexual assault complaint that may or may not involve Chumlee, and find drugs and illegal guns?

I was so bummed when I found out that show is staged. I always had suspicions though, as they didn't look that busy for a place that's in Vegas and on national TV.

I like the show because of the items, but I pretty much knew it was staged.  Too many times they acted like they were catching some one by surprise when there was already a camera crew set up in the room.

That's not the tip-off.  Of course they have cameras, because that's the show.  They could record 140 hours a week just to get 30 minutes (plus advertising) that were interesting for the show.  Edited is not the same as staged.

The tip-off is that people found "experts" appraising items that were actually for sale in their own shops.  Guitar dude was the worst offender I've heard of.  Also pretty sure the one regular gun guy is a dealer.

1.  I am not talking about editing.  I am talking about people acting like they are sneaking around when their is a film crew following them.

2.  I don't see what difference it makes where the items come from.  How would that effect how much you enjoy the show?

The guys from the show are very rarely in the store and never do any real business there anymore outside of filming. The transactions on the show are staged. It's mostly a tourist attraction/souveneir shop these days, with a small roped off counter for pawning. If they like your item enough, there's a small chance they choose it for the show. You'd come back the next day for filming and I read that it takes an hour + to film a 5 minute transaction.

Yep.  That way the guy behind the counter looks like a genius because he knows so much about every random item that people bring in.

Plus every expert is always available at a moments notice to leave their business and come to the pawn shop.

Everyone on that show seems like a complete piece of shit.
