The "Other" German Genocide - Bengalzona - 07-25-2016 I had never heard of this. Apparently, Germany had a warm-up act for the holocaust: http://qz.com/733463/germany-finally-apologizes-for-its-other-genocide-more-than-a-century-later/ Quote:Germany finally apologizes for its other genocide—more than a century later At what point should reparations be discussed? At least that's what I've read in other circumstances. ![]() On a more serious note: Why can't we stop doing these things? Why do we think WE deserve what other people have so we go kill for it? Are humans just dumb? There are still conflicts — and likely will always be — but nothing like the fighting that's come before, at least in terms of scale. I don't know if that's because we're getting better as a race or because humans are just getting closer to killing off different humans so we've narrowed it down (a handful of races, fewer cultures, fewer religions, etc). You can probably make an argument either way. You can probably make an argument either way. I see the narrowing down as the main driver, at least in the US. Every major city now has the same stretch of road with the same chain stores and restaurants etc. Here in Northern Ky, any doctor's office, specialist, medical lab worth a crap is now under the St. Elizabeth moniker. It's as if we never had any anti-monopoly laws ever. The proverbial homogenization seems nearly complete. All symptoms/products of fewer cultures. RE: The "Other" German Genocide - THE Bigzoman - 07-25-2016 The 1907 genocide had nothing to do with the WW2 holocaust. Merkel is just being ******** as per usual. Germany had only recently became a country (1871). Hitler's regime and Kaiser rule had **** all to do with each other. As horrible as this was I have to ask if we should consider reparations from all of the colonial powers if we consider them for this.
