Yet Another Abortion Argument - BFritz21 - 09-15-2016
People say "we're not ok with abortion, but it's the woman's body and her choice."
So all of you that argue that think prostitution should be legal? It's her body and her choice.
How's it different?

What aren't you understanding about my question?
Prostitution is illegal in every state except Nevada in some counties.
If their arguments for legalized abortion is that it's a woman's body and her choice, then, logically, they're ok with prostitution, right?

The United States isn't the only country in the world. Prostitution is legal in other places. I'm assuming you're not referring to those places where prostitution is legal, right? What's the difference between porn and prostitution?

I do argue that prostitution should be legal. If it was legal and regulated like other industries those working in it would be the better for it.

The difference between porn and prostitution is that porn isn't something that the common person can do or even would do and is produced for entertainment.
It's a thin line in the technical sense but not in the moral or in the use of common sense.

Since you're a teacher- something to do with every day life I recall, current events or something of that sort- do you tell the girls in your classes that they should consider becoming prostitutes because it should be legal?
Do you tell the 18-year-old girls that they should be able to let the boys in the class pay them for sex?
I bet you don't.

It's not, which is why prostitution should be legal. The only reason it isn't is the monotheism's all have massive hang ups when it comes to sex, especially female sexuality.

I doubt he tells them they should consider being strippers either because it is inappropriate either way for a teacher to address, but doesn't mean it should be illegal.

No, I'm adult and a non-parent authority figure. It would be extremely inappropriate for me to not only discuss sex but to also then tell female students who they should have sex with and to engage in illegal behavior. I also think pot should be legal, but I shouldn't and wouldn't tell students to smoke it right now.
Why are you asking so many sexual questions about minors? It's creepy and irrelevant.
And how is prostitute different from porn? You pay someone to have sex with someone, but you then film it.

Since you're a teacher- something to do with every day life I recall, current events or something of that sort- do you tell the girls in your classes that they should consider becoming prostitutes because it should be legal?

So you don't see a distinction between porn and prostitution morally. Which means if you have ever watched porn, morally you're no different than a prostitute's John. Since you don't see a distinction between porn and prostitution, should porn be illegal like prostitution? Who put you in charge of making decisions for everybody else? I think prostitution should be legal; of course the effects it has on human trafficking should weigh into the decision.
Abortion is a totally different subject and I do not see any correlation. Only women can agree/disagree to have abortions; yet both men and women can agree be prostitutes; only one of these 2 is biased based on sex.
