this guy is a joke. We knew he was in the Clinton's pocket and this goes back to his ridiculous question of birth control in the republican primary that launched the democrat "war of women" strategy vs Romney.
Obviously he has been paying for access and has been working as a campaign arm of the democrats. This should be a bigger deal than Brian Williams.... the media and the politicians shouldn't be close... they should be separate and enemies.... And we all know who we can thank for the media and politicians being close..... Woodrow Wilson. He started the Correspondents dinner.... before that the media was combative to the politicians. Now they are just compliant.

If anyone wants to look at a war on women, look at this dirtball's treatment of women Billy Bob had sex with.

Who started the process of making adversarial groups to get close and friendly.
We agree on this.... But the guy who started the "getting cozy" between politicians and media was Woodrow Wilson .

Does it bother you that I can trace back many of the problems of today back to his ridiculous policies?
The Guy was dangerous. And wouldn't have been president had TR not ran 3rd party because Taft wasn't progressive.

No it wasn't. The only thing Wilson started was a regular briefing and a formal person so take charge of wrangling the press. He hated the press.
Aside from individuals here and there that were cozy the press has grown more adversarial to politicians over the years as a whole.
But we have Lincoln to thank for first hiring someone to deal the with press, though as I said, it took until Wilson for it to be a formal position. Cleveland is to thank for the formation of the Press Corps as that is when the press actually started caring more about what was going on. Prior to that, most newspapers didn't cover the WH or the POTUS, and those that did were on friendly terms. Coolidge was the first to really get comfortable with them, though. He was more accessible than any POTUS before him and was the first to attend the WH Correspondents Dinner.

White house corespondents were started to smoothe it out with Woodrow wilson because he threatened to stop having press conferences. So he made the media basically make nice with him to get access. Which pushed them to be friendly instead of adversarial
Coolidge attended because there was Wilson backlash.

The WHCA is an independent organization that was started, indeed, because of Wilson threatening to revoke access. The only thing that was "playing nice" that was required was not reporting things that were intended to be off the record, something that had been a thing for decades before, and continues to be a thing up to present day.
Wilson never got cozy with the press, though, and in fact stopped with the meetings with the press in 1915, after the sinking of the Lusitania. There were a couple meetings in his second term after that, but it never was a regular thing as Wilson did not like the press.

Yeah wilson just threatened to take away access. Made the press have less teeth... Which is the problem of today.
Wilson is just an awful president.... Who stomped all over this country . He is easily one of the worst presidents and it doesn't take long to connect the problems of today to his policies. Not to mention the amount of lives lost to his foolish actions worldwide.

So much of his nonsense still plagues us today that it seems like it's never past tense. It's the continual nightmare.
