Since you brought it up, this actually reminded me a great deal of the way that the great Sam Wyche called plays and named them.  Interesting stuff.

Also loved the route designs and explanations to "Core and Boyd" about how their laziness created a turnover.  "Can't happen, guys".  I used to see a LOT of laziness in routes when the ball was clearly not coming to them.  One of my biggest pet peeves.  It is hard to see on TV, but easier when you are at the games.

I have no doubts that this offense will be strong enough to have them in every game.  The defense?  No clue about what we are going to see...although I can bet it won't look like Austin's pathetic zone that just gives away easy plays.

Well and that's how you eek extra wins out.  You get guys to not be lazy and play 100% EVERY play in EVERY situation. Easier said than done. But, that's how you start to institute that culture change.

See on defense, I could see a LB like Pratt having a good year. It happens every year where a 3rd or lower LB plays really well. Why not Pratt or Jefferson?

The offensive line? I have little hope for it other than maybe Westerman surprising.

I don't have a lot, either.  That said, Jordan is another I'll have my eye on.  At the least these young guys seem to have a shot at playing if guys ahead of them don't get the job done.

This is where coaching has to come into play.  Hopefully, this year's OLine coach will do a better job coaching guys up than last year's fraudulent line guru, who didn't seem to make anybody better.

Isn't it kind of shocking that no one did that years ago?

Don't want too beat a dead horse but Marvin was atrocious in this department it's amazing he had the record he had. Until Andy's 3rd year in the league we din't even utilize the free play that every other team does when defensive lineman jumps off sides how many times did we take a knee with around 40 seconds left and timeouts down less than a TD to end the half or call a safe power gut run and let the clock run out.

That used to frustrate me during the Palmer years when the defense would jump offsides and we'd take a knee.
