Teen girl in Columbus killed by police

You must not have been paying attention to the months of coverage on Russian collusion,  or Putin putting bounties on US soldiers, or President Trump getting urinated on in a Russian hotel.  I also question their story of an unnamed source claiming that "Trump called US soldiers losers" that got picked up by every single major outlet.  They all couldn't wait to run with it, with absolutely no verification and with the story initially being ran by a lesser outlet.  That didn't stop it from becoming fact though.

Wes, as I mentioned above, all news sources are to some degree biased. The "perfect" news source is a false standard. The serious measure is how informed or misinformed their audiences become from relying upon them.

The "Fox News's of the world," if by that you mean the right wing media, are indeed much worse than the mainstream media, if accurate and vetted information is the standard, not to mention less agenda-driven news. This has been established in study after study.

You refer to months of coverage on Russian collusion as if simply covering an important story rather than presenting it as a "hoax" from the get go is evidence of MSM bias. It was not a hoax. Trump minions passed campaign polling to the Russians, assured them they would lift sanctions once in power, and then denied the contact. Trump's financial relations to Russia are still being investigated. People went to jail. This is still a story.

The Russian bounties story was also legitimate, but the disturbing part of it was the claim that Trump had never been briefed on it, regardless of the level of confidence in it.

And whoever reported that Trump got urinated on in a Russian hotel?

MSM news reported on unverified allegations in the Steele dossier that Trump watched Russian prostitutes pee on a bed. No MSM source I am aware of ever reported on that other than to say it was an unverified and likely unverifiable part of the dossier, and Comey had briefed Trump on it. It was not a "fake news" story presented as fact. (As Hollo points out above, the pee story as a focus of MSM news is wholly a creation of the RWM, and only there does it circulate as a "fact.")

As far as Trump calling soldiers "losers," there were four unnamed sources. Your "lesser outlet" was one of the US most prestigious institutions, The Atlantic, and its story was independently confirmed then by two AP sources and WaPo. You claim they couldn't wait to run with this story, as if they were behaving like the Fox news reporters over the last few days rushing to claim Biden wants to ban hamburgers.

The "agenda" of the RWNM is to undermine the MSM and other sources of knowledge/information from our Intel services to our scientific institutions to the history taught in our universities, leaving its audience reliant on the naked authority of Trump, Hannity and other right wing sources purporting to give their audience the "real" motives of the more reliable news sources.

That's why the Big Lie worked, driving thousands to the Capitol building on 1/6 and leading Republican politicians to deny the validity of some state results.  And what is the leading source of current misinformation about COVID, leading millions to refuse masks and vaccination? "Both sides" are not disinforming news consumers on this scale.

So no, not "ridiculous." The RWM are much worse, when it comes to providing an accurate picture of the political world we live in.
