A player will almost always take a contract extension instead of playing out his final year risking an injury, but right now Bates is looking at another possible coaching change and another re-building phase. Maybe he just does not want to sign here.
Good grief, the storm clouds follow this board around. Do Jessie Bates' actions this pre-season speak to a man that does not want to play here and is looking to get out, or do they speak to a man that wants this team to gel and win?
