Yes, Russia got quite a return on their "investment" in Trump. And that was apparent long before 1/6.
They got a president who was inclined to dismiss his own intel services when intel conflicted with his vanity, and especially regarding Russian espionage. His own generals were prepared to subvert a possible coup.
a president who pulled the US out of the TPP and the Paris Accords, creating a leadership vacuum and an opening for China.
a president who smashed the Iran Deal, and with it US diplomatic credibility among the major players in the world. Now the word of an American president is no good beyond election cycles, and our allies are adjusting their own policies to this new problem.
This list could go on, but I'll just end it here with the claim that, with regards to Russia's anti-democratic foreign policy goals, Trump is the gift that keeps on giving--as shown by the AZ recount, the mass of "Election integrity" laws currently dividing the nation, and his continued leadership and control of an increasingly anti-democratic party with a real chance of winning back the House in 2022.
