Apathy in this case would seem to normalize and sanction the other side.  You want to know why he couldn't convince you of his perspective?  Because its entirely fabricated on self-interest, nothing else.  You are right.  Confronting him may only push him towards not showing his face in public.  It may not make an immediate impact as he continues to monitize corrupt, degenerate talking points to the masses.  But I refuse to submit to a nefarious actor of this magnitude.
