To muddy the pool a little, another thought. I keep reading how the Japanese keep working toward creating highly realistic "sex robots". I'm sure that this is probably an eventuality. What happens when they develop one and there is a demand for child-sized models? Ugly and reprehensible? Absolutely, IMO. But should that be legal or illegal? Would it be 'therapeutic' or a 'gateway' to illicit actions in real life?
Taking that line a step further, what about the guy who has to replace his sex robot (either child-sized or full-sized) every other week because he has a penchant for using them as a punching bag before or after having sex with them? It is not an actual person. Yet the behavior is so outside of civility.
I am not offering answers for this, just throwing it out to see what other people think. When should society step in and when should it stay out?
