Lot's of interesting stuff into how these "people" think.
Three important takeaways that I see are
1. The recognition that expressions of sympathy, e.g., money for the families, could be construed as an admission of responsibility. So no.
2. All the worry about how their "hillbilly" and "fruitcake" constituents make handling PR difficult.
3. The easy assumption that Congressmen will support their decisions.
