Joe said in his post-game press conference that he injured it on the strip-sack. He explained that he hit it on something/someone and that he noticed the finger looked a bit wonky when he went to the sideline but it wasn't bothering him at that point so he ignored it. Of course, if he had taken the time to relocate it at that point it probably wouldn't have swelled so badly. It bothered him more as the half went on to where we saw him at the end of the half
