Yeah, I get that. I just strongly believe that people are ready, eager for honestly, a news source that just reports fact based news. I don't think for one second that it would replace partisan news outlets, as you say people are hungry for confirmation of their own opinions. But I do think that it would perform much better than most people would expect. It would also be immensely refreshing to be able to quote a source and be confident that it was accurate and unbiased. As much as people like to have their opinions reaffirmed by others I think people are equally fond of being able to know something that others do not and be able to speak on it intelligently. Or as intelligently as some people are as capable of sounding.
