It takes two for a trade, and I don't think Dallas was going to take a late round pick. Dallas' best financial benefit was with a post-June 1 cut, which is what this was. A trade before June 1 would have saved them only about $1 million in terms of the cap but cost them $14 million in dead money. They were only going to trade him for an early round pick.
