It is true, for some reason we only look outward when the reality is we have plenty of hate groups and domestic terrorists doing things here. Everyone is all about taking out ISIS right now, but by number of deaths they aren't even the most prevalent terrorist group in the world that belongs to Boko Haram, yet we don't even talk about that group. the same time the Paris attacks took place there was an attack in Beirut, but I'd wager many people couldn't give you any details about this attack (40 people died here btw).
What do they all have in common? It all comes down to how the media presents things. The masses in general only know what they are being told, and very few look past what they see on nightly news or websites. The reality is terrorism is an issue, as it rose 80% last year to account for 32k deaths world wide last year. The thing is that while the rate of increase is alarming the total number is microscopic in the grand scheme of things. It would rank currently as the 67th leading cause of death in the world, however the money we spend and the coverage it gets you'd think it is top 10.
I don't want to minimize the severity of terrorism, all death especially murder is bad, but I am just trying to point out how much our views are shaped by the information we receive through major media and how it is portrayed to us.
