Off the top of my head:

Disgruntled ex-employee

personal relationship with employee

Significant other in an extra-marital affair with an employee

Robbery

I have given the example of the shooting here are HRC. Without knowing motive (intent) it was orginally thought to be an act of terrorism similar to what has happened at Ft Hood. Turns out it was concerning matters of possible domestic infidelity.

We can draw conclusions and as soon as reports were leaked that the shooter yelled "no more baby body parts" we then have a possible motive and begin to consider it an act of domestic violence.
