This type of negotiating and free wheeling really has to be understood better by the "said" player many times and just whose interest is really at stake.

I think the big appeal was not only the amount of $$ on the tag, but it was fully guaranteed.
With contracts being more fully guaranteed now, the tag is losing its appeal for players.
