Volson with 1st team

I did not watch every single snap, and I didn't stop and rewind to look at things closely, but I was focusing specifically on him for about every offensive snap I did watch, which was over 3 quarters worth.

I can see him starting at LG if the Bengals don't bring anyone else in, and I can see him doing some good things, but I really do see him being a below average starter for a while.
Personally, this game solidified my desire to get a veteran to hold down the LG spot while Volson continues development.

He definitely has athletic limitations and some vision problems.  For example, he helped blow a guy off the LoS on a double team block at the POA in the 1st half, but it could have been a TD if he would have gotten off the double team and onto the LB.  I saw some waist bending and lunging from him, particularly in the 4th quarter.  Counter moves and speed he struggled with at times.  He got worse and worse as the game went on, even winding up on his back in the run game in the 4th quarter.  That raised the question for me as to whether he has the conditioning to play 60 minutes against NFL talent.  

He could be serviceable as long as he can learn to recognize stunts and maintain his level of play for 60 minute.
