I don't think it was as much about us "coming out of nowhere" as much as it was the difference between the team in the regular season and the playoffs.


Plus the fact that the last 4 wins that got the Bengals to the Super Bowl were decided on the last play of the game.

As for "credibility" of an position, the same people claiming the Bengals defense will be great because they forced a few more tunrovers in the playoffs are the same ones who said Joe Flacco would be ab All-Pro QB because he threw for 1100+ yards, 11 tds, and zero interception with a 117 passer rating in the '12 postseason.  If you ignore the regular season and just count a four-game hot streak that is when you will probably see your credibility suffer.
