It doesn't seem like people want that, though.  We seem satisfied enough by being able to say "Hey...the guy I voted for is a liar, but so is the other guy."  I'd argue we as a people seem to NEED both sides to lie so we can just vote for our chosen liars with a clear-ish conscience.

The government is supposed to represent the people, and we're a bunch of self-exaggerating liars, aren't we?
