He is the consensus top TE currently. And he may be a better route runner right now (I can't judge that at this point) but really he doesn't possess anything that stands out compared to his peers. Be honest, if you didn't know the kid grew up here (in my hometown), and you've met him multiple times, you likely wouldn't be as adamant on drafting him over a OT in 1.
