Cincinnati May Be Getting NFL Draft Soon, per NFL

Basically it looks like they have just started talks with the NFL in hope of hosting the draft in 27, 28, or 29.

Quote:Visit Cincy has told the NFL it would like to host the NFL draft in 2027, 2028 or 2029, CEO Julie Calvert said Friday.

Calvert made her remarks at the annual Visit Cincy meeting.

For the NFL, "those are the next open years," Calvert said. "We wanted to sign the documents with the Bengals and let them know now that we're interested."

If the city did win a bid for the draft for those years, the region plans to have finished building a new headquarters hotel downtown by then.

"We feel very confident ... the hotel will be up and operating," Calvert said. "We don't want to wait. Let's move now."

Visit Cincy is the region's convention and visitors bureau. Calvert said the organization had received an encouraging response.

"It was extremely positive," Calvert said. Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn "is well regarded within the NFL, serving on various committees where these big decisions get made."
