You realize there is a different "they" in each case, working under very different conditions and constraints?
"Both sides" don't undermine elections and stage coups backing a vulgar, twice-impeached leader. One side does it, and then says "both sides" are to blame for dividing and weakening the country.
You're trying to talk logically to someone that buys into conspiracy theories. There is no point to it, unfortunately.
