I went back and looked through some of the earlier threads and saw some interesting quotes . . . see if you can pick out any of yours. Some of our predictions were accurate . . . others not so much. What is your opinion of the Reds Opening Day lineup? I'm not impressed at all. Would be surprised if we beat the Pirates. I'm hoping we struck gold in some new players and recent players. Going to be a long season I'm afraid.

Andrew Abbott is 23 and was a second round pick in 2021. He pitches in AA. So far, in 10 innings he has allowed 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, and has struck out 25. The 'Cowboy' was mentioning him yesterday on the radio.

Last night i was sitting there and i said "you know what, we actually may need to get to a Reds game or two this year" because of the young talent and how exciting they look to possibly be.

Strange thing is, even minus the rebuild, they'd have McClain, Abbott, and De la Cruz. The only real rebuild guy on the roster now is Steer. The true impact of the rebuild has not yet made it to MLB.

I thought it would be impossible, but Elly De La Cruz has actually exceeded my expectations in his first week in the majors. I thought that McLain had placed the bar too high but, somehow, EDLC's speed has been even more impressive. He is truly incredible.

I'm starting to get mildly concerned about DLC. He was electric his first 3 or 4 games, to say the least. Since then he just doesn't look confident at the plate. Don't get me wrong, I still believe he's a bolt of lightning as a prospect. But perhaps he needs a couple days off? Maybe he's feeling too much pressure?
