Nearly two-thirds of Americans think Jan. 6 charges against Trump are serious

When DJT was in office people said (even on this board) stop "listening" to his words and see what he does!  Well what he did was try and overturn the legal, fair election he lost.  The proof we have is his words because he told others what he wanted done.

But then they said Trump would fade away after the election and the gop would go back to "normal".

It's that kind of blind faith in him and them that got us here in the first place...lol.

No doubt.  The man was absolutely correct when he said he could shoot someone on Times Square and not lose any support.

It's pretty stupid from a standpoint of merely wanting to advance the GOP agenda.  They could run any number of candidates and have a real shot at the presidency.  Maybe even a significant advantage.

This is also the main problem with Trump and more specifically his supporters.  It's no longer the Republican Party that we're dealing with here.  It's quite literally whatever he says it is, because he commands enough of the electorate to remain a major factor.  He and they do not care about the GOP.  They care about Trump and doing what is best for him, country be damned.

It would be like Joe Burrow running for governor in Louisiana or mayor in Cincinnati.  His platform could be eating live puppies and making kids dress like Rupaul.
He'd still win because his electorate is composed of fans and not members of a party.

The GOP has become a fan club and no longer exists as anything but a whole bunch of fanboys and girls that get aroused by looking at an old man run his mouth about how hard it is to be white.
