When I lived in Calgary (MST) for the 2016 season , it was weird for the games to start at 11:00, but being done around 2ish allowed me to get a head start on grocery shopping and dinner, whereas here if I don't go before the games, I need to go at like 5:00 at night, when I usually start dinner.

So yes, a little bit earlier can have its advantages, that and you don't need to wait around until 1 to see the game
