Because it’s never going to happen. It’s a foregone conclusion that Chase will be extended. You don’t let a top 5 pick who instantly became one of the very best players in the league at his position walk after their rookie contract. It would not only be illogical, it would be disastrous. Those types of picks are supposed to be franchise changing. And it was.
