After the game there was an interview with AJ Green and he stated that it was his mistake as he thought he saw something from the safety and started to run an option but AJM threw to the original route.
Sadly this is what happens when you have a backup throwing without much chemistry or experience. It looked worse because AJG had the safety beat and didn't need to switch but maybe Dalton would have known how AJG would have read the coverage and thrown to the outside route instead.
Regardless, all the criticism of Green seems a bit over the top for nothing more than trying to be too clever and forgetting who was throwing to him.
