Leaving DNC - Real Issue or Not?

That said, the reasons stated in his opinion piece are nothing short of laughable. For example:

Is just such utter bullshit that makes this reeks more of an opportunistic move to help an otherwise unremarkable and irrelevant fundraiser get his name out there by having right-wing media pick it up as "Hey, look at this dude (he's even black!) ditching the DNC for the GOP".

Edit:

Just to answer the question in the title. No, it's not a real issue. People's ideals and priorities change, both GOP and DNC and everything in between.

Not to mention the fact that he said "Biden failed to unite the nation" as if the Republicans somehow could haha.

The only thing the Republicans are good at uniting is their opposition against them. Trump is one of the most impactful voter turnout generators in this country's history. People were falling over themselves to vote him out in 2020, even for a hapless candidate like Joe Biden.
