I am actually really surprised at the amount of people I have talked to who have almost no concerns when it comes to AI. They basically tell me to take my tin foil hat off,
A lot of people are making the mistake of equating this to Y2K, the Mayan calender, etc......but AI is far more complicated than those things.
I can't remember where I saw it, but there was a video talking about how researches said AI wouldn't have the ability to teach itself anything outside of what it was programmed to learn but then they discovered it was llearning things outside of what it was programmed to learn.
That is terrifying.
