AI is here, and we are in trouble

I saw a recent episode of Law and Order a few weeks ago and, in it, a guy kills the head of an AI company. They know he did it because he admitted very specific details about the shooting and motive and they had circumstantial evidence that paired with his confession, so he was dead to rights until they got the confession thrown out for drama reasons.

Anyway, the victim's business partner, halfway through the trial, goes "oh shit, I totally forgot, there's actually a camera pointing directly at that area. Here's a video of him doing it, clear as day.

They don't outright state that the guy generated it from whole cloth, but they heavily implied it.

I could see that being a real thing in the future. Doubting if a video you can see with your own eyes actually happened at all.

It's terrifying.
