What would cross your personal line?

If you're under 30 and your life is in ruins stop buying useless crap and work more.  This is like one area where I agreed with overly-simplistic conservative talking points, but I see people getting all soft on people dropping the ball on their financial situations because it's more important to lay blame on politicians you don't like than it is to actually try to instill a sense of work ethic and thrift in younger generations.

Either that, or when someone like Trump is in office put more into your 401k and invest and save more money, because saving your pennies for a rainy day ain't just words to an old song.  We shouldn't encourage anyone, much less younger people, to expect a change in the government to save them from their poverty.

Well said. Both of our sons are what I would describe as "late term Millennials", both of them work their tails off. One is a letter carrier with the USPS and the other is rising through the chain as a material handler transitioning to purchasing. Both work overtime most every week, miser their money much better than I, and I couldn't be more proud of them. Our daughter is the idealistic one, thankfully she married a young man who went into the USMC and expanded his already broad technical knowledge to become an aviation electronics specialist. He'll make more money than any of us in the immediate family, provided he lands a job with the airlines when he completes his enlistment. So that's two later Millennials and one Gen Z, all with killer work ethics and sound moral values.

I'm not sure where all of these lazy Tic-Toc wanna be rock stars came from, but somehow we still put work ethic and character into our kids, and their doing fantastic.
