It's not clear Hunter is involved in anything other than campaign-related discussions.
Maybe that hasn't been the norm, but the campaign is in crisis right now. And it's pretty common for close friends and family to have a prominent role in a campaign.
And maybe Hunter just wants it to be crystal clear that he's an active adviser when the payments he's getting become public record. Probably harder to find politicians that DON'T have any family on the campaign payroll.
