The mob was just an example. Maybe someone like the Rooneys would payoff a player to advance their team. Maybe even a group of wealthy fans, while getting their money back by betting on the outcome.

I realize that all of this a tinfoil hat material. But that is sort of the point of the thread. Sometimes it is good to get crap out of your system just by letting your imagination roam. Sometimes it is good to talk over a crazy idea just to see how crazy it actually is.
