Turn the volume Up - Thrash Metal, specifically Halestorm of late
Turn the volume Down - Modern Rock, which is actually bad pop these days
Turn the radio or whatever Off - Rap or Latin Music
Rip the stereo out of the dash and beat a kitten with it - Girl Pop that pretends to be music - Brtiney, Rihanna, Miley etc.

I like good voices.  Impressive or clever singing.  Adele, Halestorm, Shinedown, Adam Lambert (How he didn't win Idol is beyond me)........Gwen Stefani and Beyonce qualify as good voices I like as well, but I don't like their music in a general sense.
