I love the pre-1900 guys, they all had different names and weird characters... Could you imagine Pete Browning in today's MLB? He'd be suspended, demoted ad nausea. And they were all bonafide stud ballplayers in their era; VERY few bad ballplayers back then, compared to now.

There were a lot fewer teams back then, they kind of had the talent pool condensed.
