Zampese = Brat?

(09-21-2016, 11:57 PM)Essex Johnson Wrote: After two games. yes you are paranoid.. total offensive not much difference than last year after two games so did you compare Hue and Brat?, . the big difference is more red zone issues .. but I heard a great stat on radio today.. Dalton to Eiffert in end zone last year was 10 out of 11, the rest of throws to other people was like 25 percent... Eiffert is the difference in lower scoring in red zone from the first two games last year.

Finally we played Oakland and San Diego.. away and home.... this year we played Jets and Steelers both away.. I don;t think a very fair comparison after two games this year compared to last year.

Good analysis. Thank you.

Here is some more food for thought for the paranoid.

What was the big concern most people had coming into this season? I would say for many fans it was we lost a lot of talent at WR and with Eifert out and a bunch of question marks after AJ at WR people were wondering how the passing game would do. I would bet the coaches had concerns in this area too.

So, would you rather run the ball excessively for the first 4 games of the year and let the questions linger at WR or would you want to go pass heavy and build some familiarity with AD and his new WRs and his tight ends not named Tyler Eifert?

Everyone knows what Gio and Hill can do. They are damn good.  And Andrew Whitworth and the rest of our OL coached by a damn fine OL coach did not just turn to shit during the off season. They are damn good.

We need to establish the new receivers both for the sake of the comfort level of Andy and the receivers as well as so teams don't realize if they take away the run then all they have to worry about is AJ Green. I think going pass heavy the first few games is smart for these reasons. Plus, it takes wear and tear off of our running backs which could be a good thing coming down the stretch.

Marvin will never be a coach who wins games 31-14 or 38-17. A wet dream for him is winning 3-0 with the game winning field goal kicked from 45 yards with 4:45 left on the clock. Then you keep going three and out on offense and make your defense defend the lead. For a bonus, on the last possession the opponent drives down to the 2 yard line with 2 seconds left and the defense stops them when they go for it on second down.

So, he is thrilled the first two games were close and we managed to win one of them. Still, I hope for the next few weeks we stay pass heavy and establish some new receiving threats.

And, as pathetic as the Steelers game was, after the emotional melt down in the playoffs, maybe it was good to just play like shit and lose rather than play well and lose or self destruct in the end. We played like shit, the refs sucked, we didn't blow our emotional load, nobody got hurt or suspended or ejected. And we are 1-1 after two road games. The sky isn't falling.
JOHN ROBERTS: From time to time in the years to come, I hope you will be treated unfairly so that you will come to know the value of justice... I wish you bad luck, again, from time to time so that you will be conscious of the role of chance in life and understand that your success is not completely deserved and that the failure of others is not completely deserved either.
