Trump insists ‘there was no sniffles’ during presidential debate

There has to be an explanation as to why he denies things that he did or said. I mean, the Chinese climate change thing was a while ago, but he denied saying paying no taxes made him smart right after the debate when asked about it, saying he didn't say that.

Either there is a mental malady at work here, or he is a pathological liar (which could be considered a mental malady I suppose). I mean, we all know politicians lie through their teeth, but generally they know they are lying. I don't think Trump does.

To be fair, I think he takes the comments literally. Like the Chinese climate thing, he never did call it a hoax. He literally never called it a hoax. He said it was a concept manufactured by the Chinese which to you and I sounds like he said that China made up climate change for financial reasons which could fit the definition of a hoax, but to Trump, he never said it was a hoax. Same thing with the taxes thing during the debate. Hillary said he paid no taxes and he said that made him smart. To him, he never said that paying no taxes made him smart.

I'm not saying this absolves him of his stupidity and it certainly goes towards a mental issue (possibly a mental malady), but it could be a way to explain why it seems he lies all the time.

Just a thought.
