How do you think a Muslim feels when he has been in a dispute with a Christian and the "God cops" show up?  Even if the cop is acting fairly it does not appear that way based on the sticker on his car.

Would you feel that you were getting a fair trial if the judge was the brother of the person who was suing you?  if you say "yes" then you are a liar.  There are strict rules about "conflicts of interest" that public servants have to avoid.  And all of these laws are based on an "appearance of bias", because it is often difficult to prove actual bias.

It is ridiculous for a police department to chose sides on religious issues, and it gives a very strong appearance of bias.

What if you were a black person and a cop car rolled up with a "White Power" sticker on it?

It says "In God We Trust," not "In Christ We Trust," so you can't say it favors Christians.  I don't think a Muslim would be bothered by an In God We Trust sign.   Your other arguments are not comparable.  In God We Trust is not racism or nepotism.
